Our team is made up of passionate experts in all areas and levels of Digital Experience Design: Product UX Design, Strategic Experience Design, Data Experience Design, Experience Design Research, Emerging Tech Design, Digital Taxonomy, Content Strategy, Experience Writing, Optimization Writing, Inclusive Design, Design Systems, Motion Design, and Design Ops to hold us all together and keep us efficient.  

We are growing the Digital Experience Design organization and need passionate Product UX Designers to help drive IKEA into the future!

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

The Principal UX Design role within the customer domain is an amazing opportunity to bring your significant design leadership experience to help achieve the IKEA vision of creating a better everyday life for the many people.

You will partner with other Design Leaders within the customer domain to:

• Drive maturity, define processes, and lead the creation and delivery of world-class human-centered design solutions.
• Designing concepts in prioritized initiatives, to deliver excellent and unique IKEA digital experiences across all areas of customer digital tools.
• Bring our design vision and product strategy to life.
• Ensure a high quality of deliverables within the Customer domain portfolio and provide design mentorship to support the development of senior and product UX designer’s craft.
• Drive, lead and own brainstorming, design sprints, human-centered design workshops and other co-creative design methods to bring the UX and Design strategy to life, working with other teams within IKEA
• You will promote the Domain Product UX Design vision to key stakeholders up to top management to create business-wide understanding

To succeed in the role, we see that you have extensive experience in many of the following:

• Implementing human-centred design methods in cross-functional teams.
• Proven track record of advocating and demonstrating business value of design and design-based decisions.
• Leading the development of all aspects of Digital Product UX Design including visual and interaction design implementation that works across multiple channels.
• Ability to craft and communicate engaging, customer driven concepts to senior stakeholders and product teams.
• Driving the development and competency of low and high-fidelity prototyping including best practices, new techniques, and technologies.
• Supporting and encouraging our product UX designers in their collaboration with our “Skapa” design system team. Ensuring we are implementing and optimising the patterns and interactions we use to deliver the most value to our customers and co-workers.
• Inspiring, motivating, and hands-on craft leadership of senior and product UX designers.
• Setting experience design best practices while continually benchmarking against industry standards and emerging trends.
• Utilising qualitative and quantitative insights to inform concepts and interaction design decisions.
• Working collaboratively across agile, cross functional teams that include product, engineering, and data.

This role reports to the Head of Product UX, Customer and is located Amsterdam, Netherlands. Our organization has coworkers in Amsterdam, Sweden, Madrid, Shanghai and Philadelphia.
